Missouri River Geologic Framework
To understand how the geology of the lower Missouri River region affects (1) sediment input into the river, (2) connections between surface-water and ground-water resources, (3) influences the soils, landforms, and habitats of the region.
Geologic maps are being produced for selected areas along the lower Missouri River. Part of these efforts are assisting the National Park Service in acquisition of lands for and managing the recently established Missouri River National Recreational River.
