Volcanic Hazards Mapping and Research

Description:

• Geology of Mount St. Helens - Working in cooperation with other project tasks, this task is developing a three-dimensional geologic framework for Mount St. Helens that incorporates its eruptive history and geomorphic evolution. • Potential for large explosive eruptions at Alaskan volcanoes. • Volcanology and petrology of late Cenozoic magmatic systems • Central Oregon volcano hazards • Volcanology of Cordilleran magmatic systems • Undersea hazards of Hawaiian volcanoes • Mt. Rainier geology • Volcano hazards mitigation and outreach • Paleomagnetism • Geochronology • Dynamics of magmatic degassing and eruption • Probabilities of volcanic eruptions
